Independence Options/Day Opportunities

Independence Options is a service provided by Unity Enterprise the Day Opportunities service is delivered in partnership with Cornerstone Community Care and Royal National Institute of the Blind both services are supported by West Dunbartonshire Council Social Work Department. The aim of the service is to support adults with learning difficulties to enable them to achieve their full potential within their local and wider community. This may include learning the skills required for living independently in their own home and/or gaining and sustaining paid employment. We offer a range of options in a supportive learning environment and encourage individuals to make real choices and meet new challenges. Unity Enterprise promotes independence as the intended outcome from the opportunities. We encourage the use of ordinary settings and services to widen the opportunities for new experience and valued relationships.

Support is provided in four different areas:

• Employment
• Education
• Leisure and Recreation
• Personal Development

Business Partnership

Unity Enterprise, in partnership with Leaseway Vehicle Rentals, provides work experience opportunities to adults with learning difficulties. Based in Clydebank, the trainees gain experience in many aspects of the business.

This is an ideal environment for the trainees to develop their skills and confidence to enable them to move into work either directly or via training or further education.
